Director Bio Information:

Laura Boucher

Laura Boucher is the newest assistant director at McGavock High School.  She returns to McGavock after teaching here in 2000-2001.  The next five years were spent at DuPont Hadley where she taught Middle School Band and Class Piano.  While at Hadley, Ms. Boucher also served two years as the Boys’ Track Coach.

Growing up in Cookeville, Tennessee, Ms. Boucher attended Cookeville High School and participated in Tennessee Mid and All-State Bands as an Oboist.    She attended the University of Dayton in Ohio for one year before completing her Bachelor of Music Degree in Instrumental Music Education from Tennessee Technological University in 1998.  In 2000, Ms. Boucher received her Masters Degree from Indiana State University in Wind Conducting. 

Ms. Boucher performed as an Oboist throughout her collegiate career, being the recipient of several music scholarships.  She continues to play Oboe as a free-lance artist and in several local ensembles.  Currently, she is a member of the Nashville Double Reed Ensemble and the Nashville Wind Ensemble. 

Ms. Boucher is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, MTSBOA, MNEA, and MENC.  She welcomes the opportunity to teach high school students again.
