The McGavock High School Band consists not only of the Marching Band, but stage performance bands, as well. After marching band season is over, these other ensembles perform during in-school concerts, as well as for local events, such as the CMA Fest Parade and the Mayor's First Day festivities.
The McGavock Marching Band has a long and rich tradition of excellence. The marching band consists of students from grades 9-12 and rehearses in the summer and fall months after school and in the evening.
The McGavock Band Color Guard is a non-musical section that provides additional visual aspects to the marching band's on-field performance.
The McGavock Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble at the school.
The McGavock Symphonic Band consists of students from Grade 10-12 and rehearses during 4th period.
The McGavock Ninth Grade Concert Band rehearses during 5th and 6th periods during the school day.
The McGavock Jazz Band consists of students from Grades 9-12 and rehearses after school. The group has a long tradition as being one of the top Jazz Ensembles in the region.
