Nov/Dec Calendar Overview
Please see important dates for November/December below. Please make sure that students are at all events on time. Notice that we have after school rehearsals this week for both Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
Band Jacket Order Form/Fitting
This year we will have a new band jacket that you may order! Please see the attached order form for details.
Stephanie Lawson will be here at the band room on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:00PM if you are interested in getting fit for a jacket before ordering.
First Playoff Game
The band dealt with more adversity this past week and came through with a great performance in many ways, despite the extreme cold and delay of the start of the contest at the CONTEST OF RESILIENCE at Spring Hill HS. The band members came a long way this season and learned many life lessons this year and grew as individuals. They became a team, showed GRIT and made special things happen this past week at rehearsals. Thank you again for all of your support along the way. Something as big as the McGavock Band requires a lof of help and assistance from many people! Parents play such a vital role in the season. Once again, thank you! The annual Band Banquet is where all students will be recognized for the season and we celebrate this special year. The full year calendar is on CHARMS and the banquet is set for 4/28/18.
The band will travel to Brentwood HS for the first football playoff game to support the team in the stands. All of the detailed times are now posted on CHARMS and can be found at this link.
A reminder, per the handbook and fall marching calendar published in May, all playoff games are mandatory for all marching band members!
