Alumni Performance of Sleigh Ride/Kenton J. Hull Band Room

Please join us Tuesday, December 5, 2017 for the annual McGavock Band Holiday Concert and also for the official recognition of the band room dedication named after found director, Kenton J. Hull.  Alumni are welcome back to perform a McGavock tradition, Sleigh Ride  to help mark this special occasion.   Please click the following link to print sheet music. TMEA Preview Concert POSTPONED

Because of today’s school cancellation due to possible severe weather and MNPS policy, we unfortunately must postpone tonight’s Wind Ensemble TMEA Preview concert.

The preview concert will now be on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00PM.

Student schedule is as follows for that day:

2:30 Dress Rehearsal
4:00 Break for Dinner
4:50 Dress
5:10 Set-Up Stage (post choir rehearsal)
5:30 Warmup
6:00 Concert Begins
6:50 Banquet Tickets/ DVD&CDs on Sale
We apologize for the inconvenience but this is out of the band’s control. Thank you for your flexibility – We look forward to seeing you next week.

TMEA Wind Ensemble DVD/CD

Their CDs and DVDs are attractively packaged in slimline cases with full-color inserts and discs featuring your group’s name and program information.

They are offering us a significant discount if they receive enough orders. You will be able to order the products tomorrow night after the Preview concert. They will be shipped to the school and distributed when they arrive.

Pricing is as follows:

DVDs:  $15.00 each (regular price: $25.00)
CDs:  $10.00 each (regular price: $20.00)

Please see itinerary below for the Wind Ensemble’s fourth and FINAL Saturday Camp this coming Saturday, March 4th. It is important that EVERY STUDENT IS HERE AND IS ON TIME. Thanks to the Music Makes Us initiative, we are able to bring in HIGH QUALITY instructors on each instrument to help with individual parts. This part of the learning process is absolutely pivotal to our success at our concert in April.

Students should plan to be in the band room by 8:45 to be ready to start in sectional rooms at 9:00AM.

Wind Ensemble – MNPS Pre-CPA

Here is the itinerary for Pre-CPA. Please note that this is on Monday, Februrary 20th which is NOT A NORMAL SCHOOL DAY. This will be a mini-camp day and students will rehearse at 9:30AM.

The performance will be at Hillwood High School at 6:30PM. We encourage EVERYONE to come watch and support the Wind Ensemble as they perform. The students need as many performance opportunities as possible to be comfortable with their music.
