Booster Meeting Tuesday

There will be an incredibly important band booster meeting on Tuesday, July 21st at 6:30PM in the NE Cafeteria at McGavock High School. Prior to the beginning of the meeting, there will be notary public and tables available for turning in forms.

This meeting will be an overall look at the McGavock Band program and the expectations of the year. It is incredibly important for every student and an adult representative of that student to be there so that we all start off on the same page!

We will also have Mr. Johnny Thomas there to do a kickoff of our spring trip to Orlando!

Please make every effort to attend this meeting and please also bring a dessert of some kind to share. There will be a dessert line after the meeting has concluded.

Part I & Part II of our 2015 Marching Band Production, “On The Way…” as well as our McBand Warmups are now available in the “Handouts & Files” section on Charms. You MUST log in to Charms in order to see the files in the folder.

Camp & Fall Schedules Available

The 2015 Season PreBand Camp, Band Camp, and Full Fall schedule are now available on Charms under the 2015 Schedules folder. You may also view them at the links below.

All dates for the fall are also available on the Charms Calendar, which you can sync to your smartphone or other devices.

How to access parent/student information in CHARMS

CHARMS is the student database management system used by the McGavock High School Band and bands across the country.  Visit McGavockBand.com for more links and resources.

  • Click the Charms link on the McGavock.com web site OR
  • Log on to charmsoffice.com and click the “ENTER/LOG IN” link at upper right.
  • Locate the “PARENT/STUDENT/MEMBERS LOGIN” section of the web page.
  • Login to your child’s program account using the following School Code: McGavockBand
  • This will bring up the main parent page. This will allow you to look at the “public” calendar for your organization, event list, handouts and other files.
  • Clicking on an event on the calendar brings up the details for that event, such as times, attendance requirements, and other event details. Note that if a calendar event is specifically assigned to your child, it may NOT show up on this calendar – check the “Student” calendar after entering the student’s ID number (see below).
  • When you enter your child’s ID NUMBER (MNPS 190 number) as a Student Area Password, another more detailed screen appears with even more options to view your student’s uniform assignments, music assignments, forms, and inventory. Once you have first entered this ID number, you will be prompted to create your own username and password.

How to Reset Password

Students and Parents accounts are shared. You can reset CHARMS passwords using the following procedure…

  • www.CharmsOffice.com
  • Select the “Login Icon” and Enter as “Parents/Students/Members”
  • Enter the School Code (McGavockBand) and press “Enter”
  • Put 12345678 in the password box and press enter. This will bring up a screen that will allow you to enter the students name and email address or cell phone number. Please know, this needs to match the information on the STUDENTS PROFILE. A reset link will be emailed or texted to you.

Two areas in which you can help us maintain records:

  • Update Personal Information –you may help make changes to your child’s student information page (such as updating phone numbers and email addresses if they change) to help communication with you. Click the Personal Info.
  • Stay up to date on what is going on with your student and be involved!
