Band Camp & Fall Schedules
The band camp detailed schedule and Fall Calendar are now available in Charms in the files and folders section titled ” 2017 Schedules”. You can also click the links below.
Please make sure to read over these carefully as all events are required and students will need to schedule accordingly!
McGavock goes to Washington!
The McGavock band will be heading to Washington DC in March of 2018!
Looking forward to having an amazing time in our nations capital!
Final Band Banquet Ticket Sales
Band Banquet Tickets will be on sale on Saturday, April 22nd outside the band room from 11AM – 1PM.
They will also be on sale one final time on Monday, April 24th from 10:30-12:30 in the hallway outside the band room.
These are your FINAL opportunities to get Band Banquet tickets – We look forward to seeing you there!!!

TMEA Preview Concert POSTPONED
Because of today’s school cancellation due to possible severe weather and MNPS policy, we unfortunately must postpone tonight’s Wind Ensemble TMEA Preview concert.
The preview concert will now be on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00PM.
Student schedule is as follows for that day:

4:00 Break for Dinner
4:50 Dress
5:10 Set-Up Stage (post choir rehearsal)
5:30 Warmup
6:00 Concert Begins

TMEA Wind Ensemble Performance Itinerary
The Itinerary for the April 6th Wind Ensemble Concert is now posted. Please make sure you look carefully at the rest of the rehearsal dates as we go near. See you on Monday!
Symphonic Band CPA Itinerary
Please remember that ALL SYMPHONIC BAND MEMBERS (BRASS, WOODWINDS & PERCUSSION) have after school rehearsal after school from 2:30 – 4:45 on Tuesday (Feb 28th) and Thursday (Mar 2nd). These are for our annual Concert Performance Assessment at MTSU next week on March 8th.
These dates have been posted on the band calendar at McGavockband.com since November and students have been constantly reminded in class. This is a bare minimum amount of rehearsals for this important performance.
This is a graded activity and if students would like to participate in the concert next week at MTSU they need to be here. Below is the detailed itinerary for our performance on March 8th at MTSU.
Wind Ensemble Camp #4
Please see itinerary below for the Wind Ensemble’s fourth and FINAL Saturday Camp this coming Saturday, March 4th. It is important that EVERY STUDENT IS HERE AND IS ON TIME. Thanks to the Music Makes Us initiative, we are able to bring in HIGH QUALITY instructors on each instrument to help with individual parts. This part of the learning process is absolutely pivotal to our success at our concert in April.
Students should plan to be in the band room by 8:45 to be ready to start in sectional rooms at 9:00AM.
Wind Ensemble – MNPS Pre-CPA
Here is the itinerary for Pre-CPA. Please note that this is on Monday, Februrary 20th which is NOT A NORMAL SCHOOL DAY. This will be a mini-camp day and students will rehearse at 9:30AM.
The performance will be at Hillwood High School at 6:30PM. We encourage EVERYONE to come watch and support the Wind Ensemble as they perform. The students need as many performance opportunities as possible to be comfortable with their music.
